A quick reminder. This Saturday in Leicester there is a youtube gathering organised by myself and Holly. There looks to be about 20 people coming to hang out, sing songs, be creative and talk nerdy. All attendees that have checked themselves as attending on the group page are guaranteed a cool new Griffins Alliance poster. There will be games, and songs, and friend making. It’ll be a blast. Saturday. Leicester. We are the Griffins Alliance. Hear us roar. https://www.facebook.com/events/470360283019671/
Like lo-fi / acoustic music? Check out my album. I have finally gotten around to finalizing the track listing. Its £2 (or more if you are feeling generous) for 12 songs or they are 20p each. So by getting the album you save 40p and it works out at about 16p a song. Bargain central. I have also decided that albums I release will be 12 tracks, and eps will be 6. Why? No reason really. I just think they are decent lengths. You are also welcome to listen to the music for free as much as you like on the bandcamp page. http://dankent.bandcamp.com/album/fishing-in-the-dark If you like the songs, then letting people know about them would be lovely. Cheers
Check out the new episode of RVR on Itunes :D
I played Cobalt with Claire recently and recorded some of it.

Thanks! A girl called Lucy co-wrote it with me. You can check out her stuff here - www.youtube.com/lucindaholdsworth
Actually, no. I do less stuff than you would think. If you follow me on twitter you would see when I post about stuff I am making, and I only make 2 or 3 things a week, and in total they probably take between 3 and 4 hours out of my week, which is taken out of leisure time. It just looks like a lot because I bounce around a lot between various projects.
Someone asked me the other day why I don’t write blog posts as much anymore, and I reckon it’s because of all the other stuff I do now. Stuff that I would have written a blog post about before I will now talk about in a podcast, or tweet, or talk about in a video, and once I have spoken about whatever was on my mind in one of those ways it seems silly to repeat myself in another medium.
It could be argued that a video is a better medium for consuming media. There are jump cuts, backing music, and engaging visuals to keep your eyes on the screen. But I kind of like the bold arrogance of a wall of text. If I blur my eyes and look at a long blog post it’s as if it is saying “Yeah, fuck you, read me if you want. Do what you want with your life” You can’t just sit back and have a blog post ‘play’ It demands to be read, and I like that. I always feel reading something someone has written is more personal than watching a video someone has made, as the creator of the content isn’t all whistles and bells shouting “look at me! look at me!” people seem to be themselves more when writing, so I do enjoy writing blogs as a thing. I am going to try and write them more.
Tomorrow is Music Monday, the day of the week I put up a new song. It’s a new thing I’m trying. I’m not sure where I will host them yet. I might make a music monday album on Bandcamp or post them directly to this tumblr or something. We’ll see
Amazing song Lucy wrote about a supervillian evil genius world dominating person. It’s really good and that. Holly recorded this thing ages ago and I’m super pumped that it’s finally up as I really like the song and I wanted to hear it again. I had the pleasure of playing guitar along with her. Seriously watch it.
The Adam Green song Bunnyranch was stuck in my head this morning, and I was stood singing “bind me, gag me, take to the bunny ranch. People dying, kill me in the packing house” while I was stood by myself waiting for the bus. But I turned around and I wasn’t by myself. An old lady was giving me a really weird look. awkward.
